The Internet is a great place to upload and share your favorite photos. Some of these online photo sharing sites include Shutterfly,PhotoBucket,Twango,Snapfish, andKodak Gallery. Many of these are free or low-cost. The most popular of these sites isFlickr.
One of the great things about Flickr is its use of "tags." Tags are just keywords that you can add to any photo you upload to the site. Sometimes you can also tag other people’s photos. Tags function much like subject headings in our Library's catalog. They help you find your photos quickly as well as search other people’s photos.
Here’s a great introductory guide: The Newbie's Guide to Flickr. Keep an eye out for term like Tags, Sets, and Collections.

Upload a photo by clicking "upload photos" and following the steps listed. Flickr will do most of the work for you. You can go to P:\All Wired Up and find a photo to use.
Add tags and a brief description to your photo by entering text in the corresponding fields. Try to use at least two tags, though you can enter as many as you'd like.
Once you've uploaded your photo, search Flickr and see what other photos have the same tags. Just click on the little globe next to your tag on any one of your photos. [Can't find the globes? See if this tip sheet helps! Flickr Globes.doc]
Search for a Group on Flickr that you are interested in like a sport, vacation spot or hobby. Groups are one of the ways that people interact and get involved on Flickr.
Write a blog entry about your experience with this task.
