Suggestions:
Enter at least one month's worth of your work schedule or project deadlines in Outlook's calendar.
Create a spreadsheet in Excel or a table in Word to keep track of your weeding area statistics using simple formulas. If you don’t have weeding assignments, use it to keep track of something else you might need for your department.
Create a PowerPoint slide show of at least 5 slides that promotes a service(s) in your department.
Create a work signature and at least 3 folders in Outlook to help you organize your email.
Create a few rules in Outlook that direct emails from specific addresses to specific folders (i.e. email from your manager or a listserv or the director).
Come up with 6-10 new tips we can add to the MS Office 2007 Tips blog.
Using the NSLS World Languages list, create a handout or bookmark to let patrons know where they can go for foreign language materials that we might not own. NSLS FL Collection Survey 12-08.doc
Looking at the templates in Word, Excel, Publisher or PowerPoint, think of 3-4 unique things that you could use these programs for that would help market the library, your department or the library's services. Don't be afraid of crazy ideas! :-)
Books or videos on these programs can be found at 005.369 and then they are alphabetical by the name of the program. For example 005.369 EXC is for Excel.
